The Harrison County Chapter of West Virginia Master Gardeners conducts numerous area service programs. Most of these programs are club projects which are open to participation by any local Master Gardener. Some projects have been initiated by individual MGs to address a specific area of concern and may have limited opportunities for participation.
The following is a list of some of the local projects:
Shinnston Community Garden
Fort New Salem Apothecary & Weaver’s Garden
“Seeds to Go” Seed Library
Healthy Thumbs, Healthy Joints West Milford Project
Annual Master Gardener Spring Clinic and Garden Fair
Hospice Garden Cleanup Day
Notre Dame High School Memorial Garden
WV Master Gardener Association State Board Representative
Officer for the Club
Teach a Master Gardener Class
Community Education/Garden Club Programs
West Virginia State Fair Demonstration Garden Helpers
Clarksburg Yard of the Month

These opportunities make it easier to accumulate your required volunteer hours. Just as importantly, they provide a means to interact and socialize with fellow Master Gardeners. If you are interested in a community service activity not listed above, please call (304-624-8650) or e-mail the Extension Agent for approval.
