Lost Creek Seed Library

There’s a fresh, new resource taking root in West Virginia that is helping to grow knowledge, community collaborations and locally-produced food and flowers. A first-of-its-kind seed library within the Lost Creek public library in Harrison County provides access information about gardening to the first time grower or the seasoned gardening expert.

Local Master Gardeners, Kaye Alsbrooks and Valarie Dunlevy, were also featured on Swedish TV regarding the seed library which they organized at the Southern Area Public Library in Lost Creek as part of their 2012 Master Gardener Class service project.

The Seed Library evolved in 2016 to become the “Seeds to Go” program which is promoting the seed library program through other libraries in Harrison Co. and the region.
