Asparagus Trial 2013
The objective of this project is to evaluate the performance of asparagus crowns versus seedlings planted with and without plastic mulch. Both crowns and seedlings are planted on a double staggered row. The close spacing of the plants will be evaluated for impact on producing a more desirable and marketable, smaller diameter spear.
The objective of this trial was to investigate the performance of several specialty potato cultivars planted in a single row versus a double (twin) row planting arrangement using plasticulture. For results see Research Narrative .
2012 Broccoli Variety Trial
The purpose of this trail was to compare the performance of eight different varieties of broccoli planted in a double staggered row on white plastic mulch. There were three replications per variety. Varieties were evaluated on the basis of total weight produced, average diameter per head, and color and head quality. Varieties evaluated were: Green Magic, Everest, Raab, W-29, Bay Meadows, Coronado, Imperial, and Alborado.
